A pregnant pause

I’m pleased to announce my latest and greatest mosaic, which should be complete sometime in June 2010. We are absolutely thrilled to be having our first child, that, according to one web site, is currently the size of a fig.

I had some complications that resolved themselves a few weeks ago; the happy result is that we recently got to meet the tiny blob via ultrasound. I know it’s not much to look at, but we think this little fig is damn cute:

Unfortunately, this pregnancy has put a damper on my creativity as I have been constantly ill, ill-rested, or both for the past 10 weeks. On top of incubation-related woes, last week’s massive sinus infection has meant that the lotus mosaic has been somewhat (read: entirely) neglected. The background is coming along, albeit at a snail’s pace. I promise to post a picture of it soon.
