Yorkshire coup d’état
It has been extremely difficult to mosaic this week. In addition to completing a hefty ethics proposal for an upcoming research project, full time work, and two concerts (The Stills & Gentleman Reg and Joel Plaskett), we welcomed a new addition to our household. Allow me to introduce you to Ramona Quimby, the 700g Yorkie pup that has captured our hearts and attention spans:

The amazing photo credit goes to my beloved who somehow managed to get her to stop moving long enough to snap his camera. As yet, my own camera has captured nothing but tiny blurs of fur and teeth:

(In case you are wondering about our other dog, Alexa, for the most part she is indifferent towards the little Alexa-seeking missile that follows her everywhere. Occasionally, they play a game that could be likened to “Ramona ping pong”; this arrangement seems to work for both of them. Naturally, I am compiling video footage and will share it with you ASAP.)
Despite the cute-o-rama that has taken over, I have been able to pull myself away and make some progress on my most recent glass mosaic. The upcoming long weekend will probably be more productive as there is SNOW in the forecast! BOO! Mosaic work is the perfect cure for bad weather blues.

In other mosaic news, I have started a weekly meeting at my work called ‘Mosaic Mondays’. From now until the fall semester begins, every Monday during what becomes a too-short lunch hour, old and new friends gather and make paper mosaics together. I truly believe that adults do not get enough structured creative time, and I aim to change this at my workplace by hosting this weekly mosaic date. I was so caught up in the excitement last week that I forgot to take pictures. I’ll try to remember to do it next week in order to share the excitement with you. ![]()
